Ustadh Ehsan studied Arabic and Islamic Studies in 1991, including Shafi’i Fiqh and Hadeeth. Between 1992 and 1995, he studied Shari’a at Madina al Munawwara as well as classical texts in Hanbali and Maliki Fiqh. He devoted time studying under prominent mashayakh (scholars) in Saudi Arabia, including Shaykh Muhammad Al-Mukhtar Al-Shinqiti.
He later went to Egypt to study in Alexandria and Cairo where he memorized most of the Qur’an and studied Tafseer, ‘Aqeedah and Da’wah methodologies.
From 1998, he began to study with Shaykh Abdullah al Judai in Leeds. In 1999, he once again left Britain for Makkah and Riyadh in pursuit of studying Hadeeth and other books, and visiting Ahlul ‘Ilm (People of Knowledge). Later in 2003, he went to Damascus where he studied several books under prominent scholars.
Brother Ehsan completed his MA in Islamic studies, Islamic History and Activism in 2004. He worked as the Head of Arabic and Islamic Studies at the London East Academy, and use to lead community cohesion projects at the London Muslim Centre and has trained students up in psychology of Neuro Linguistic Programming. Brother Ehsan delivers training courses, lectures and halaqas on a range of topics. Currently he is doing a PHD on the works of the great Islamic scholar Ibn Qayyum Al-Jawziyah (Rahimullah) in the University of London, SOAS.
